Dr. Patel is a board-certified urologist who has performed more robotic surgeries than any other surgeon worldwide, including more than 19,000 robotic prostatectomies to date. As Medical Director of the Global Robotics Institute at AdventHealth and Medical Director of Urologic Oncology at AdventHealth Cancer Institute, he specializes in minimally invasive, robotic-assisted procedures to address cancers of the bladder, kidneys and prostate and reconstruct elements of the urinary system.

He teaches advanced courses in robotic surgery for the American Urologic Association and is an active Professor of Urology at the University of Central Florida. He also retains honorary professorships at several prestigious international universities and medical societies. He has provided robotic surgery instruction or helped create new robotic surgery programs at numerous medical teaching facilities worldwide. He is also the Chair of Humanitarian Healthcare Equity, University of Strasbourg Institute for Advanced Study and the Executive Director of the Society of Robotic Surgery.

Dr. Patel is an internationally respected leader who has traveled around the world teaching and performing minimally invasive robotic prostatectomy surgery. His international accomplishments include performing robotic prostatectomy surgery on 6 of the 7 continents around the globe. The list of destinations that he has performed, and taught surgery reaches as far north as Montreal, Canada and extends as far south as Buenos Aires, Argentina. His experiences span the globe from Angola, Africa to Lisbon, Portugal, to Moscow, Russia, and many prestigious cities in between.
